摘要
In this work we carried out a simple mathematical analysis of the functions describing the dependence of the stoichiometric acid-base constant on application of Pitzer's formalism to the activity coefficients of the species involved in two common monoprotonation equilibria. Simulated pK* vs ionic strength plots for two typical acid-base equilibria AH-2+ reversible AH + H+ and AH reversible A- + H+) are compared with experimental data for the two pK(i)* of beta-alanine in KNO3 at 25-degrees-C.
