DISTRIBUTION OF FE AND MG BETWEEN GARNET STAUROLITE AND BIOTITE IN ALUMINUM-RICH SCHIST IN VARIOUS METAMORPHIC ZONES NORTH OF IDAHO BATHOLITH

摘要
Garnet, staurolite, biotite, and muscovite were separated from aluminum-rich schists in various metamorphic zones north of Idaho batholith and analyzed chemically; chemical analyses of host rocks show that bulk composition of schist is fairly uniform; all rock analyses plot near Al corner on Al-Fe- Mg diagrams; pressures during second episode of metamorphism-episode responsible for present mineralogy-were fairly uniform, but temperature increased toward batholith; distribution of Mg and Fe between garnet and biotite changed with temperature.
