摘要
Voltage-length products for modal evolution-type digital switches are calculated by utilizing an analytic solution for normal-mode coupling in specifically shaped waveguide branches. The operating principles of the digital switch are demonstrated, and for the shaped devices interference-like solutions with perfect crosstalk are shown to exist. Voltage-length products are compared to interference-type devices and to experimental results with linear branches. © 1990 IEEE
