ELECTROCATALYTIC BEHAVIOR OF CO/CU ELECTRODEPOSITS IN 1M KOH AT 30-DEGREES-C

摘要
Electrocoatings of Co-Cu alloys were obtained on a Ni substrate in aqueous solutions at pH 9.8 with dissolved Co and copper sulphate. It was observed that the surface composition and structure of the coatings are closely related to the applied cathodic current density (0.002-0.04 A cm-2) during alloy electrodeposition. Two zones with different characteristics were noticed at 0.005 A cm-2 and above. The oxygen evolution reaction and the hydrogen evolution reaction were characterized in 1 M KOH at 30-degrees-C for Co-Cu loadings of 4 mg cm-2.
