BROWNIAN DIFFUSION OF AEROSOLS TO THE FACE OF A NUCLEOPORE FILTER

摘要：

An approximate solution of the transport equation is found for aerosols in the flow approaching a Nuclepore filter. Small aerosols are shown to be collected on the front face of the filter owing to Brownian diffusion relative to to the mean flow path lines. A formula is derived for the diffusive collection efficiency of the filter, and it is valid for filter porosities in the range 0.05-0.64. © 1979.
