摘要
In the cold, lambs [Ovis aries] behave as mature homeotherms from birth. By 17 h post-partum the lower critical temperature had fallen by 8.degree. C due to a 40% increase in minimal metabolic rate and the wet fleece drying out. Smaller lambs were disadvantaged energetically having greater thermogenesis per unit of mass commencing at higher air temperatures.
