29Si n.m.r. spectra have been obtained for mixtures of polysiloxane oligomers in four cases, viz. MDnM, MHDnMH, MOHDnMOH and MDHnM. Spectral dispersion is best (under the conditions studied) for the MOHDnMOH series, where signals due to oligomers up to n = 9 have been separately detected. The spectra have been fully assigned, and shift effects due to the end-groups (equivalent to shifts expected in long chain polymers) have been derived. The significance of the data is discussed. © 1978.
