ARGININE AND LYSINE VASOPRESSINS IN HIPPOPOTAMUS NEUROHYPOPHYSIS

摘要
Neurohypophysial hormones were isolated from a sample of 23 hippopotamus pituitary glands. One of the hormones had the amino-acid constitution of oxytocin. The highly purified hippopotamus vasopressin had an amino-acid analysis compatible with a mixture of [8-arginine]- and [8-lysine]-vasopressin: thin-layer chromatography separated it into two fractions, one with the pharmacological and chromatographic characteristics of [8-arginine]-vasopressin and the other with those of [8-lysine]-vasopressin. © 1970.
