Thin films of YBCO were deposited on bare MgO and SrTiO3 as well as on Y2O3 stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) which were also prepared by OMCVD on (1102) Al2O3 (sapphire) and on (100) MgO. T(c) (R = 0) values of 87-91K and J(c) (77K) of 10(6) A/cm2 were obtained on most substrates. Such results are reported here for the first time for thin films of YBCO prepared on YSZ/Sapphire. The Jc data are discussed in terms of the (100) in-plane orientation of the (001) textured films.
