OPTICALLY DETECTED CYCLOTRON-RESONANCE IN ZINCTELLURIDE

摘要
The electron effective mass in ZnTe is determined by optically detected cyclotron resonance experiments. Its value is m* = 0.124 +/- 0.002 m(o). Within experimental error no polaron enhancement is found in the investigated magnetic field range (0 - 11 T) when exciting the resonance with microwave energies (0.14 meV) or far-infrared energies (10.4 meV) in contrast to results obtained in CdTe. This is partly explained by the higher frequency of the longitudinal optical phonon in ZnTe.
