摘要：

Angular momentum and moment-of-inertia considerations peculiar to heavy nuclei when applied to neutron stars predict a highly elongated ellipsoidal object, spinning about a minor axis. Preferential emission off the major-axis ends may account for the observed pulsations. © 1969.
