摘要：

The effectiveness of the independent variable in an experiment may be measured by the correlation between group membership and the dependent variable (rm). A concise table is presented for the estimation of the value of rm directly from the probability value for an inferential test and the sample size. The table is well-suited for use in an undergraduate statistics course and can be used with both parametric and nonparametric tests. The table may also be employed to aid in the estimation of appropriate sample sizes. © 1969, Psychonomic Journals, Inc.. All rights reserved.
