Conducting polymers such us polyaniline and polypyrrole were 'doped' during polymerization with a variety of organic and inorganic electrolytes. The electrical properties of the resulting polymers were examined. We were able to control the conductivity and the energy gap of the materials prepared over a wide range 10-4 - 30 S/cm and 0.05-0.25 eV respectively. The preparation of such conducting polymers containing of chemically active agents such us Phtalocyanine, Hydroxyethylideno, 1,1 Dephosphonic Acid, cadmium sulfide, carboxylated polymers, phosphorylated polymers, sulfonated polymers, polyvinyl alcohol and benzosulfamid, has potential analytical, electrochemical, photochemical and electrochromic applications.
