BROAD-BAND CHIRPED FIBER BRAGG FILTERS FOR PUMP REJECTION AND RECYCLING IN ERBIUM DOPED FIBER AMPLIFIERS

摘要
Broadband chirped fibre Bragg filters centred at 980 nm and 1480 nm with reflectivities as high as 99% and reflection bandwidths up to 22 nm are reported. The filters have a low transmission loss of < 0.5 dB between 1.51 and 1.56-mu-m and their application to reject and recycle unabsorbed pump light from a fibre amplifier is demonstrated.
