This paper proposes an alternative method of synthesizing a two-dimensional antenna array of which the pattern can be controlled as a function of arrival angle of array input. The new technique includes a procedure of extending a Tseng window in two dimensions by means of rotation. The beam maximum and pattern null can arbitrarily be steered to the direction of desired signal and jamming interferences, respectively. This paper shows how to select one-dimensional Tseng window properly, extend it to two dimensions maintaining the circular symmetry, and finally apply the two-dimensional window to array synthesis. The resultant array is employed for detecting AM signal in the presence of strong jammers which are up to 100 dB above the signal level.
