MAGNETIZATION CURVES IN THE GROUND-STATE OF SPIN-1/2 ANTIFERROMAGNETIC XXZ-CHAINS WITH COMPETING INTERACTIONS

摘要
We study ground-state magnetization curves in the spin- 1/2 XXZ chain with antiferromagnetic first- and second-neighbor interactions. Extrapolating the exact results for finite-size systems of up to 20 spins, we estimate the behavior at the infinite-size limit. The results obtained are discussed in connection with the role of the competing interactions.
