It is suggested that rupture of a previously normal tendon of extensor pollicis longus after Colles fracture may be due in some cases to crushing of the tendon between the styloid process of the third metacarpal and the dorsal tubercle of the radius, when the wrist is forced into extreme extension. © 1979.
