摘要
The effect of velocity of the liquid flowing uniformly past a horizontal orifice on the volume of bubble formed from a submerged single orifice in the presence of pressure fluctuations in the gas chamber is investigated experimentally and it is found that bubble volume decreases as liquid velocity increases at the same gas flow rate. Based on experimental observations of bubble formation, a two-stage model of bubble formation in flowing liquid is proposed as an extension of the model of bubble formation accompanied by pressure fluctuations in the gas chamber in quiescent liquid presented by the authors. The calculated results of bubble volume by the presented model coincide well qualitatively with the experimental results. © 1980, Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan. All Rights Reserved.
