摘要
1. 1. Hemoglobins from five species of commercially valuable tunas were electrophoretically differentiated. 2. 2. The samples were cumulatively collected at sea, stabilized and returned to the laboratory for analysis. 3. 3. No intraspecies variations were found in the skipjack, yellowfin or bigeye tunas. 4. 4. Polymorphism was pronounced in the albacore. 5. 5. A nonpolymorphic variation existed in relative amounts of two bands of hemoglobin in bluefin tuna. 6. 6. Evidence is offered implying a closer phylogenetic relationship between the bigeye and yellowfin tuna than had been proposed from previous anatomical and systematic studies of the genus Thunnus. © 1969.
