摘要
The intimate nature of ligand substitution reactions of aquated chromium(II) was investigated by studying the effect of pressure on the rate of complex formation of aliphatic free radicals .R with aquated chromium(II) using a high-pressure pulse-radiolysis technique (see reaction below). The reaction exhibits for 10 different R's an average volume of activation of +4.3 +/- 1.0 cm3 mol-1. This is interpreted as an indication that solvent exchange and complex formation of aquated chromium(II) proceed via a dissociative interchange mechanism. Cr(H2O)62+ + .R --> Cr(H2O)5R2+ + H2O
