An overview of the annual report 2004-05 prepared by Practitioners' Forum, which is set up to lead the implementation of fire policy and modernization in the fire and rescue service, is presented. The joint task group on the draft Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order is working on the responses to proposed guidance and is providing advice to ministers. An equality and fairness task group has examined the connection between the equality agenda and the Practitioners' Forum. The Practitioners' Forum has also contributed to the various policy issues such as National Procurement Strategy and CFOA policy to reduce unwanted fire alarm activations.
