摘要
The transformation of colloidal inclusions in free-standing films of smectic-C liquid crystal was invetigated. The inclusions were found to be cholesteric droplets that formed above the smectic-C-cholesteric transition temperature. Each droplet was observed to be confined in a two-dimensional system which was accompanied by a topological defect.
