摘要
The electron-impact total-ionization cross sections were calculated. The Born-approximation electron-impact ionization amplitude was derived for general neutral-atom targets. To model the target wave function, Hartree-Fock Slater orbitals were used. Results for noble gases, selected transition metals, and elements from the fourth, fifth, and sixth columns of the periodic table were presented, where the theoretical comparisons were lacking.
