The nearly degenerate four-wave mixing (NDFWM) in a degenerate two-level system was examined for closed atomic transitions in magneto-optically cooled atoms of cesium. The NDFWM spectrum was also analyzed for different pump and probe polarization cases. The atoms were subjected to excitations of the magneto-optical trapping beams to present the characteristic features of the trapped atoms resulting from level degeneracy. The results showed the spectra were reproduced by the calculations in good agreement with experimental results.
