The sociotechnical and the economic perspectives are used to discuss impacts of IT at the societal level, while the sociotechnical and the strategic perspectives are used at the organizational level. A sociotechnical analysis of IT impacts is conducted at the individual level. The paper concludes with a discussion on the need for a plurality of perspectives in IT impact research.
