摘要
A new method for forming isotropic, laminar, and columnar pyrolytic carbons is proposed. A low rpm (below 2. 4 rpm) tumbling bed has been used to deposit pyrolytic carbons from hydrocarbon gases. All deposits were made on graphite substrates from propane and methane at a constant temperature of 1200 degree C. The microstructures are dependent on the flow pattern of the reactant gas, rpm of the reactor, hydrocarbon concentration, nature of the hydrocarbon, and geometry of the bed.
