摘要
The three-dimensional solutions of Maxwell's equations were used to describe tightly focused laser beams. The quantum-statistical properties of the light emitted due to interaction of focused light beam with single atoms in free space were also investigated. A quasi-one-dimensional model was developed to describe the propagation of light beam and the solid angle subtended by it at the atom's position. The results depicted the ability of the single atoms to modify intensity and phase properties of the incident light.
