摘要：

An optical bistability has been observed in bulk a-GeS2 during sub-band excitation. The bistability is accompanied by an abrupt change in the refractive index. The process by which the transmittance switches in the region of the hysteresis loop exhibits a critical slowing down with a time scale 1-5 sec. The effect is attributed to an abrupt structural change in the material.
