IMPORTANCE OF THE STERIC CONFIGURATION OF LYSOPHOSPHATIDYLCHOLINE IN THE LYMPHATIC TRANSPORT OF FAT

摘要
The steric configuration of lysophosphatidylcholine in the lymphatic transport of fat was studied in bile fistula rats. Feeding 1-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine [to the rat] increased the lymphatic output of phosphatidyl choline and triacylglycerol 3-palmitoyl-sn-glycero-1-phosphocholine had no effect. In intestinal microsomes of the bile fistula rats the lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase was stereospecific in acylating the 1-acyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine enantiomer. The significance of these findings is discussed.
