金矿开采活动引起汞在黑水生态系统中的活性

摘要
非正常金矿开采活动导致汞(Hg)的排放,是发展中国家的一个严重的环境问题。在亚马孙地区,每年要排放70~170t汞。生物受到污染的范围也非常广泛。汞必须先溶入水,然后再转化成甲基汞才能在食物链中积累。通常认为,汞必须先经氧化才能出现显著的溶解。在本项工作中,我们对水生环境中未被氧化的元素汞Hg0(水合)的稳定性进行了研究。在与有机酸相接触的情况下,热力学分析和电化学实验都发现了有机汞络合物形成的迹象。尽管尚未完全了解这些可溶形态的甲基化过程,但黑水河流中这些络合物的形成有利于生物可获得性的提高是确定无疑的。
