NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF DISPERSION CHARACTERISTICS OF RECTANGULAR WAVEGUIDES FILLED WITH ARBITRARY BLOCK-SHAPED DIELECTRICS

<正> The dispersion characteristics of rectangular waveguides filled with arbitrary block-shaped di-electrics are calculated by the method of finite element. A generalized program is given for thehybrid dominant and higher order modes. More than ten different rectangular waveguides loadedwith various dielectric distributions have been investigated, and the results verify the reliability ofthe program. In particular, the useful bandwidth of the waveguide filled with I-shaped dielectricis analyzed in detail. The dispersion curves given in this paper are useful for analyzing and design-ing related microwave components of current interest.
