论普世价值与价值共识

Value universalism is a theory of value based on abstract human nature; its methodology is characterized with universality and eternity. In our time,some people in the West,and even some people in China,relying on the hegemony of the western discourse,claim that the core values of the western capitalism are universal values. They make this claim perhaps because they want to divide and westernize China politically. We must see through the essence of such claims of "universal values" ,while at the same time admit in confidence that we can harvest fruits from the evolution of human civilization,and that it is possible that,through international cooperation and cultural communications,we can reach certain consensus on values with the westerners. We should not fall prey to those claims of "universal values" just because of the possibility of value consensus,nor should we deny the possibility of value consensus just because we cannot accept "value universalism".
