The future trends of mechanical CAD is directed towards using artificial intelligence (AI)and knowledge engineering ideas.The paper is intended to given overview of concepts and methods which are relevant for intelligent CAD(ICAD)system,and presents a logic model of mechanical ICAD and some implementing methods based on expert system techniques.
