摘要：

本文是对爱尔兰最大的农民组织——爱尔兰农民协会 (The IrishFarmers Association,IFA)的个案研究。作者通过对爱尔兰农民协会的组织结构、活动方式及其社会政治影响的调查 ,旨在说明在现代社会中农民协会的功能和作用。组建农民协会不仅是农民的结社和组织问题 ,更重要的是农民利益的表达和维护机制问题 ;在工业化和市场化条件下 ,农民的自我组织及农民协会在表达和保障农民利益方面具有不可替代的地位和作用 ;农民协会与政府在某些问题上可能存在分歧 ,但两者并不是天然的对立关系 ,农民协会在决策咨询、政策宣传、政策实施、疏导矛盾及国内外政治舞台上可以给予政府多方面的支持和帮助
