本文概述了国外网络文化研究发展的几个阶段 ,即初识网络阶段、网络文化本体研究阶段、网络文化综合研究阶段。介绍了当今国外网络文化研究的重心转移 ,即网络的文本间性研究、网络话语研究、数字鸿沟研究和交流界面研究。
