民主、政治不稳定与害怕浮动

摘要：

过去20年中盛行于发展中国家(地区)和新兴市场经济体的害怕浮动现象及其成因,是近年来国际金融学研究的一个重要问题。为什么很多发展中国家(地区)和新兴市场经济体对这一行为情有独钟?本文从民主和政治不稳定两个政治因素的角度诠释了这一现象的成因。本文认为,越民主的国家和政治不稳定程度越高的国家越可能表现出害怕浮动的特征。本文随后以1974—2007年间150个发展中国家(地区)和新兴市场经济体为样本检验了这些理论假说,经验证据支持本文关于民主和政治不稳定的理论假说。
