The 4th section of the 15th National Congress of the Chinese communist Party will be held in the second half of this year. On the occasion, the Central Party will make a significant arrangement for further reform of state-owned enterprises. Furthermore, if China will enter the WTO, Chinese financial professionwill be faced with more intense competition. Under such circumstances, Deepening reform of Chinese financial system is an urgent and solemn task. It is well known that the reform of state-owned commercialbanks is an important component part of the whole reform of the financial system. Objectively speaking,there is still a long way for the state-owned commercial banks to become ed modem commercial banks.In that way, how should we deepen the state-owned commercial bank? For this Purpose, the editors of theJournal of Financial Research organize the seminar which some experts and scholars attended, they Probed into the problems and make some policy suggestion.
