The Electricity Price Fluctuations on China's Aluminium Industry Part Ⅱ

The Central China electricity networks includeHenan,Hubei,Hunan,Jiangxi,and Sichuanetc.By the end of June 2004,there were 44electrolytic aluminium smelters in these areasincluding Chalco’s Henan Branch,which en-joys the State preferential electricity powerprice.Among these smelters,21 are using self-baking pots and small pre-baking pots,and 9smelters were built without the required regula-tions.These are China’s main aluminium pro-duction areas with nearly 1.03 million tons ofoutput during the period between January andJune 2004,accounting for 32.44 per cent ofChina’s total production during the same pe-riod.
