阿尔金西段的榴辉岩为中温高压变质岩 ,并经历了角闪岩 (至麻粒岩 )相退变质作用 .在形成于榴辉岩相的石榴石变斑晶中保存复杂的成分环带 ,它记录了榴辉岩多阶段变质作用P T轨迹和具降压升温特征的早期退变质过程 .这些证据均表明榴辉岩在峰期和早期退变质过程中的住留时间很短 ,即经历了快速构造折返
