In this Paper Zhao Tingyang argues that underlying the so- called global ethic claim is the presumed universalism with a metaphyical illusion of the essence of man, which mustbe reconsidered by the political questioning“who are we” as Richard Rorty puts forward. And to reshape any reasonable proposition of the issue concerning the ineration between cultures, Zhao argues that L evinas theory of the Other as You should be taken into account as a more acceptable princeple in replacement of the modern dogma of subjectivity, with an especial idea to recommend thatthe Golden Rule“Do to others whateveryou would like them to do to you”be rewritten as“Never do to others whatever others would notlike you to do to them” in order to assure the justice admitting of all possible horizons to gain a“whole story”.
