This paper aims to argue for the point that cognitive linguistic theory should model cognitive structure of language and its cognitive operation.In such a cognitive framework,the theory accounts not merely for the biophysical features,but also for the functional features. The neurocognitive linguistics and its relational networlks are the closest to the theoretical goal.
