对我国高血压防治研究的展望

Facing the 90 million hypertensive population of whom 94% were uncontrolled in China, a scheme on the control of hypertension was proposed including (1) The scheme should be a national one focussing the international health strategy “Health for all by 2000” and a potential new aim “Health promotion for all in the 21 century”. (2) The scheme should be one of the major aims of the Chinese government in controlling the most common and culpable diseases in China. (3)The scheme should be an example of the new pattern of Bio Socio psychic medicine. (4) A new network of organization should designed to execute the scheme. (5) Health education on: "Hypertension control" should be the core part of the scheme, Medical worker and medical student should be educated first so that they can educate the patients and the publlic. (6) Early detection and appropriate treatment of hypertension should be emphasized. Domastic antihypertensive drugs should be available with good quality, effectiveness, safty and an acceptable cost for the majority of the people. (7) Adherence to medical research including good clinical trials and basic science on the mechanism of hypertension on a genetic level should be encouraged. Hypertension should be controlled by the combined effort from the government officials, scientists and medical workers, and the mass public, China will win great benifit from the control of hypertension.
