基尼系数和统计数据——以浙江省为例

It is usually impossible for us to calculate Gini coefficient with the data in China's statistics yearbooks because the income data in China's statistics yearbooks are listed separately for cities and countryside. For the first time the paper calculated Gini Coefficient of the whole Zhejiang Province (city and countryside together) by using the concise formula for Gini Coefficient. The conclusion is: Based on the data in 〈Zhejiang statistics yearbook 2004〉 the Gini Coefficient for the whole Zhejiang province is 0.3749; the Gini Coefficient for Zhejiang's cities and towns is 0.3001; the Gini Coefficient for Zhejiang's countryside is 0.3415. Then the paper pointed out a serious mistake in the data in 〈Zhejiang statistics yearbook 2004〉. After correcting the mistake in the data, the Gini Coefficient for the whole Zhejiang became 0.4783 from 0.3749.
