携手合作 共迎新世纪──中非关系回顾与展望

The friendly relationship between China and Africa is of long understanding and well established. It not only has a historical and realistic basis but also accords with the foundamental interests of Chinese and African peoples to reinforce their friendly relationship.After the founding of new China, China and Africa have cooperated and made great progresses on politics, economy and culture, and are keeping a well- developed relationship. Sino -Africa Cooperation Forum held in Beijing in October, 2000 has made an important meaning on enhancing the friendly relationship between China and Africa, and made a firm foundation for establishing a long term stability and multual interests in their new relationship. China and Africa are both developing countries. They have similar experiences in history and are facing the same task of development. With the constant development of economy globalization and different kinds of developing modes, both sides should further cooperate in political and economic fields, implement “Beijing Communique” and “Sino-Africa Economic and Social Development and Cooperation Guild” which are issued by Sino-Africa Cooperation Forum, and enforce the feature of their “South-South Cooperation”. Following the increasement of China's comprehensive national strength and improvement of Africa's self-strengthening in the beginning of the 21st century, the friendly relationship between China and Africa will enter a new era.
