An analysis of forty college junior boys and girls' own accounts concerning philosophy ability and gender difference reveals that college girls are hound to face a dilemma if they are to really gain equal opportunities of participation in the areas of study. If a college girl chooses an area of study where the female sex has the superiority over the male sex, she will not be looked upon as having a promising future; whereas the dual role conflict will be an important cause of her failure if a college girl chooses an area of study where the male sex has the superiority over the female sex. This is a question involving college girls' mentality as well as a question involving social culture and system.
