美国总统奥巴马成功连任后,于2012年11月19日对缅甸进行了历史性访问,成为第一位访问缅甸的美国总统,引起世界的瞩目。奥巴马访问缅甸表达了美国政府对缅甸政治改革的奖励和支持,对争取与西方逐步重建关系的缅甸政府来说,意义重大。
