摘要
In the artistic design of home-textiles, either the color, pattern and style as well as the technique of expression or the selection of materials and process are all commanded and restricted by the design concept and mode of thinking of the designers. Facing the impact of Western perspective of value and painting technique, Chinese home-textiles designers are affected by the collision of Western and oriental cultures. The traditional laws they used to adopt in their design are broken and originally rooted symbols and images are disintegrated. In the cross-century transition period, People are looking for the space that is more suitable for living and more rationally designed in terms of psychology and physiology. Most of the designers are adjusting their ideas, combing the way of thinking and considering how to inherit Chinese culture and art, especially the textile art. They are striving for cultivating new design concepts and designing marketable products that cater to the tastes of both domestic and overseas consumers with new way of thinking.
