<正> The climatic change in the Quaternary period is characterized by the alternation of glacials and interglacials. Since the early 1970's, the classic quadri-glaciation pattern has been gradually replaced by the concept of multiple-glaciations. However, the problem of the total number of climatic cycles in the entire Quaternary still remains to be solved.
