Since the founding of the People's Republic, China has worked consistently for women's labor rights protection of all forms and has achieved remarkable success in this respect. The nature of enterprises has changed radically with the change in the economic and ownership structures that has come about since the adoption of the reform and opening-up policies. The market has become the principal economic operation mechanism and the effects of the existing women's labor rights protection policy based on the public ownership have decreased. In particular, the entry of foreign-funded enterprises into China, the increase of private enterprises and the change in the supply-demand relationship in the labor market have aggravated the seriousness and urgency of the question bearing on the protection of women's labor rights. Therefore, to Objectively assess the lessons and experiences of developed countries and to clearly understand our present situation and problems will go a long way toward promoting the protection of Chinese women's labor rights.
