国外电子期刊的发展已有近20年的历史。电子期刊的超文本、超链接及多媒体特性和传统印刷型期刊大不相同,除了可省去储存空间、实时传送、提供个人化的期刊外,还提供资料库检索的功能。从资科使用的角度看,内容庞杂的期刊资料经过整理并建立起数据库后,资料的保存与查询将变得十分重要。本文将就电子期刊的定义、特色及发展进行初步探讨。
